Nutrition and Meal Support
Regular, balanced meals are an important part of daily life at Stone Lodge Memory Care. As memory loss progresses, some residents may forget to eat, need reminders, or require help during meals.
At our home in Shepherd, Michigan, meals are served in a calm, structured setting where staff are available to provide support as needed. The focus is on making sure each resident is comfortable, nourished, and able to participate at their own level.
How Meals Are Supported
Mealtime is part of the daily routine and is kept consistent:
Meals are served on a regular schedule each day
Staff are available to assist or supervise during meals
Dietary needs and restrictions are followed when provided
Portions and presentation are adjusted to encourage eating
Hydration and intake are observed throughout the day
What Families Can Expect
Some residents are able to eat independently, while others need reminders or full assistance. Support is adjusted based on each person’s needs.
Mealtimes are kept calm and unhurried, with the goal of maintaining comfort and steady nutrition rather than rushing or overwhelming residents.
