Is Stone Lodge safe and secure?
Yes. The home is secured with key-coded and alarmed entry and exit doors. Outdoor access is limited to a gated patio area so residents can spend time outside safely. The home meets all fire safety requirements, including a full sprinkler system. All staff complete background checks before working in the home.
Who is Stone Lodge designed for?
Stone Lodge is specifically designed for individuals with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. Our setting, routines, and level of supervision are built to support memory-related conditions and provide a more structured environment.
Is staff available at all times?
Yes. Staff are on-site 24/7 to provide supervision and assistance throughout the day and night. Our smaller setting allows for closer monitoring and more consistent support.
Do you offer private rooms?
Most rooms are private, with shared options available if preferred. Residents also spend time in common areas such as the main living room, dining area, and sensory space, which are designed to feel comfortable and familiar.
What is the environment like?
Stone Lodge is a smaller, home-style setting rather than a large facility. The focus is on maintaining a calm, structured environment with consistent routines to reduce confusion and support daily stability.
Are visitors allowed?
Yes. Families are encouraged to stay involved. Visiting can be arranged in a way that works best for both the resident and the home’s daily routine. We recommend coordinating visits in advance.
What kind of care and support is provided?
We provide daily assistance with personal care, supervision, and routine-based support. We also coordinate with outside providers such as physicians, home health, hospice, and therapy services as needed.
Is Stone Lodge licensed?
Yes. We are licensed by the State of Michigan as a Large Group Adult Foster Care (AFC) home for aged individuals with memory-related conditions. We are also members of the Michigan Assisted Living Association and local chambers of commerce.
Are pets allowed?
In some cases, yes. Approval depends on the type of pet and whether it is a good fit for the home environment. We also have a bird aviary and aquarium, which residents often enjoy.
